TTG Travel Awards 2010 Winner

Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld has been named as Best Meetings and Conventions Hotel at the 21st TTG Travel Awards 2010.

The awards ceremony was presided over on October 7 by Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor, Suraphon Svetasreni.

Receiving the award was Suthikiati Chirathivat, Chairman of the Executive Board of Central Plaza Hotel Public Co Ltd.

"This is a great honour for us, because Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld has been open for only three years," said Mr. Suthikiati..

"We were very much aware, when we were originally planning the project, that a purpose-built fully integrated hotel, convention centre and lifestyle plaza in the heart of Bangkok had the potential to be a major attraction, and the success we have enjoyed in this very brief period has been extremely satisfying for us."

Centara Hotels & Resorts has earlier been named Best Local Hotel Chain by the TTG Travel Awards for three years in succession..

Daren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, said that the response from both the local and international markets to Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre has been overwhelmingly positive.

"We are fully geared to handling all sizes of gatherings and all types of event," he said. "This, coupled with our location has given us enormous presence and as there is nothing else like it in the centre of Bangkok we are all fully confident of building on our initial wave of success in the years to come."
